Safe by design — not by accident
Generative stories are wonderful, but they have to be safe for children first. Here’s how we make that non-negotiable.
Every word and picture is checked
Nothing reaches your child until it has passed automated text and image safety checks. If anything looks off, it’s blocked and regenerated — we fail safe, not sorry.
No ads. No selling data. No strangers.
There is no advertising of any kind, we never sell data, and there is no public sharing or chat with other users — removing the biggest risks to kids online.
Healthy screen time, by default
Every child starts with a gentle 20-minutes-a-day limit. When the time’s up, kidtold says a warm goodbye-for-now instead of pulling them back for more — no endless feed, no dark patterns. You can raise or remove the limit anytime from your dashboard.
Built to the COPPA standard
kidtold is a children’s service and is built to the amended U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act standard. A verified parent sets everything up and stays in control.
We collect as little as possible
No full names required, no location, no contacts. A grown-up gate protects all settings and billing, and you can review or delete your child’s data at any time.
No voice recording
Read-aloud narration is synthesized on the device — your child’s voice is never recorded, and no audio is sent to us or anyone else.
Parents are in charge
You approve setup, hold the account, and control the subscription. Reporting tools let you flag anything for review with a tap.
